I suspect that this is related to how I simplify addition and multiplication, where I take advantage of (a+b)x = ax + bx. Though... it got complex, er, complicated (i don't want to add extra work here i) ).
ReplyDeleteAh yes, the distributive property. Works well with mixed numbers, not so much exponents.
ReplyDeleteFrom what little I've heard, I ran off the rails in terms of people following my thinking. Maybe should've given the post more than 24 hours before putting it up. Admit I was partly motivated by the fact that I'm aware of when my buffer is currently set to end, which is not at a good time, so inserts are helpful.
