Back in the gamma recording studio, Slope interjects with an important dialogue about DIVIDING FRACTIONS.


"Alternatively, 1/3 divided by 1/2... you're giving to a "whole", and
 doing it in "halves". 1/3 + 1/3 = 2/3, which is the answer.

  1. I suspect that this is related to how I simplify addition and multiplication, where I take advantage of (a+b)x = ax + bx. Though... it got complex, er, complicated (i don't want to add extra work here i) ).

  2. Ah yes, the distributive property. Works well with mixed numbers, not so much exponents.
    From what little I've heard, I ran off the rails in terms of people following my thinking. Maybe should've given the post more than 24 hours before putting it up. Admit I was partly motivated by the fact that I'm aware of when my buffer is currently set to end, which is not at a good time, so inserts are helpful.
